Job Application

That's my first photo as a 20 year old!

As of now there are a lot of fresh graduates applying for a job. I'm not rushing into anything, but I wanted to hit the ground running as well. My first job (or is it?) is something of experimental nature. What I'm focusing on is a consultancy firm. I figured it was oriented in market studies and I like three things: business, writing and social studies. The company is a threesome, plus, it's a multi-national. Crossing my fingers that it's good and I'd get it!

PS. When something excites me, keeps me awake at night at my will, I say to myself, "Isn't this what it's all about? This is what I want to do for the rest of my life!" ~that's how I feel when starting a business. Haha.

Apparently, among all the fresh grads out there, I am looking for my own path. :)

PPS. This photo makes me smile.

Turning twenty

Tell you the (shameless) truth (for the ever-serious world), I love celebrating my birthday! Even a simple greeting counts as a celebration.

Sometimes I feel cheezy when people sing me a birthday song. Feels good to know also that there are people who bother to buy a cake with my name on it. :') Haha.

I also won a planner :))

Here's the story: As usual, I had an exam on my birthday. Spent the eve of it alone in my dorm room studying. Ran off to ace an oral exam (Extra-meaningful since it's my last ever college exam!), treated some friends at CASAA (haha!) Ran off for the Pro's Ohana /sem-ender at Justin's house. Grilled burgers and drinking games (thankfully, I didn't lose. Haha). Then took a cab to MOA to have dinner with my family. Sometimes I forget how long we have not seen each other, because when we do, it's like we're together everyday. Week before that, my housechurch celebrated with me. The day after, my high school friends.

Thank you, Lord. :)
These celebrations were memorable!

Goodbye, Teenager

I'm not your average good student.

This morning I printed all 97 pages of my thesis, ran off to have it ring-bound and then took two consecutive exams ~none of which I have read even a line with to review.

Am I disappointed in my senior self? Well, my grade-conscious freshie self would have. My older self would probably think she earned bragging rights.

17... 18... 19... ?

In a matter of hours, I will be turning twenty, which is middle-aged for my ten-year-old self ten years ago.

Other people try to say it's "twenteen" but I have no trouble about age. Doesn't matter if I spent my last teenaged hours in academic tribulation.

Twenty will be so much better. :)

And also!

Congratulations buddy!
Who knew we'd be there for each other's graduations?
At least she promised to be in mine and that's enough!

Friendship is amazing, especially when you know who will truly stay.

Next stop: marriage!
Haha, NOT. :))

Freshmen

Tonight, I finished my thesis.

(tumblr)

It's not as perfect as I wanted it to be.

Who knows if my professor will find "plagiaristic" characteristics in it? Wrong citations, too close paraphrasing, errors in... who knows what.

The biggest leap has been taken. Getting that gift that is in the making for four years is now easier. Still clueless about graduation, but Lord, thank you for letting me finish this!

*silent celebration*

Good Pressure

Recently I have been rereading John Elliot's Overachievement.

My family knows about my penchant for books on marketing, psychology and history.
I love facts way more than fiction.

What I have been learning from the book is how to isolate
your physiological response from your psychological.

Pressure need not lead to anxiety.

What's best,
being under pressure only means that you are on the verge of something meaningful.

With a Smile

Lift your head
Baby don't be scared
Of the things that could go wrong along the way
You'll get by
With a smile

For some reason I got really sentimental tonight.

Other seniors were affected by the "graduation bug" since the start of the semester. But it was hard for me to accept at first.

I remember crying to Ate Rai saying that I don't want to graduate yet. We prayed about it, and in a matter of months I found myself looking forward to graduation. I actually enjoyed the graduation photoshoot and the multiple job fairs. But it never hit me yet until now. Tomorrow's the last week.

It's hard worrying about the future when you're too busy. But I can't help it right now, even though my thesis isn't finished yet. College will soon be over.

Hello

Guess the reason I wanted to start this blog is because I wanted to remember.

I have this tendency to forget the best moments in my life, and right now I am on a verse of a huge transition and I wanted to relish the experience of it all.

There is nothing like this moment. So I might as well live it to the full. :)
